Building on our year-over-year developments, we kept improving and broadening our range of IMO Statutory services for shipowners and operators in 2023. We also strengthened our partnerships and collaboration with International Ship Registers (ISRs) and National Maritime Authorities.
40As of the end of December 2023, INSB Class maintained the status of a delegated Recognized Organization (RO) by 40 government authorities.
RO Oversight audits by Flag States in 2023
The IMO RO Code provides flag States with a standard that assists in achieving harmonized and consistent global implementation of requirements established by the instrument of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) for the assessment, authorization and oversight of recognized organizations (ROs).
2023 Flag State Oversight Audits received
Within year 2023, INSB Class revalidated its overall scope of authorization and responsibilities as a delegated RO following periodic oversight audits conducted by the below Flag Administrations
COMOROSOversight RO Code audit between 6 to 8 March 2023 followed by the validation of an updated RO Model Agreement.
GREECEOversight RO Code audit by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy held between 27 and 28 November 2023.

BAHAMAS MARITIME AUTHORITY
On 13 July, INSB Class attended the BMA Greek Technical Seminar organized by the Bahamas Maritime Authority. The agenda covered a broad range of topics: Flag corporate status , quality focus towards Port State Control Performance and on BMAs approach in relation to the revised IMO decarbonization regulatory update, milestones and the road map ahead. Interesting points were also raised with regards to trends for alternative fuels as well as for the use of biofuels in Carbon Intensity Indicator calculations (CII).

PANAMA MARITIME AUTHORITY
On 18 December, INSB Class participated to the one-day Annual RO/RSO Meeting organized by Panama Maritime Authority held at Panama City, addressing themes related to Panamanian fleet quality and port state control performance, monitoring and control of ROs as well as other topics related to the implementation of marine instruments.
Inter-Flag activities
As an authorized Recognized Organization, INSB Class performs surveying and certification activities directly relevant to the main international maritime conventions and codes on behalf of a growing number of delegating flag states.

Since 2006, INSB Class remains approved by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for Classification Society Activities under 46 CFR part 2, subpart 2.45) , in reflection of our commitment to achieve ever-higher standards.
INSB classed vessels freely operate in the United States waters, on the same basis with IACS classed fleet.
